The Council is mandated to review and ensure the accreditation of all allied health training institutions seeking accreditation. The Accreditation Committee of the Council meets in January, April, July and October each year. The Council does not accept accreditation application for certificate programmes.
The Council ensures that the standard of study and training in recognised institutions is maintained. The Council in consultation with the appropriate educational institutions, determines courses of instruction and practical training for allied health professionals.
The Accreditation Process
- Review of Documents submitted by the institution seeking Accreditation.
- A copy of the concerns raised in the report is forwarded to the institution for correction and re-submission.
- Visitation of institution by Panel selected by Council
- Council decision on accreditation status based on the report submitted by the Panel.
